Why Managed IT Services Pricing Varies by Client

No two businesses have the same IT environment, which is why managed IT services pricing is not a flat rate like a subscription box. A law firm with five employees and one server has completely different needs — and completely different risks — than a collision repair shop with 30 workstations, a paint booth network, and three locations.

The factors that move your price the most are the number of users and endpoints, how many servers you run on-site, how many physical locations need coverage, and whether your industry has compliance requirements like HIPAA or FTC Safeguards. Infrastructure complexity — older hardware, mixed environments, poorly documented networks — also affects the time required to manage your environment well.

Each workstation, laptop, and mobile user is managed and secured individually. More users = more endpoints to protect and support.

On-premise servers

Servers require deeper monitoring, patch management, backup scheduling, and faster response windows than workstations.

Network infrastructure

Number of locations

Each physical site has its own network perimeter, infrastructure, and on-site support considerations. Multi-location environments carry a per-site base fee.
